Introduction
Newton College is a private postsecondary educational institution founded on September 28, 1990 in Garden Grove, California.
 
The Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education (the BPPE) of the State of California has granted Newton College approval to operate since August 1, 1993. You may access the BPPE Website at www.bppe.ca.gov. The College has also been authorized by The Department of Homeland Security to enroll international students since May 2, 1994.
 
Admission Requirements

1. GENERAL OVERVIEW OF ADMISSION PROCESS

Admission of an applicant into Newton College is based on an individual’s academic, professional and personal goals, and whether those goals are aligned with the mission and program offerings of the school. In general, those who are over 18 years of age, demonstrate a desire to learn, and possess a high school diploma or GED are eligible to apply to Newton College. Each applicant is assessed on an individual basis, and the final determination for admission of an applicant is based on prior education, motivation, and capability to pursue a chosen program. The school will make every reasonable effort accommodate applicants with special needs, and admission procedures for those types of applicants will be handled on a case-by-case basis.

The school has adopted a policy and procedure pursuant to Government Code 11135 et. seq. to ensure that its programs and activities are available to all persons without regard to race or ethnic group identification, religion, age, gender, sexual orientation, color, physical or mental disability.

2.  ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

To enroll at the College, applicants must:

  • Be 18 years of age or older. Those under 18 years of age may apply for the ESL programs with the signed consent of his/her parents or legal guardians.
  • Submit an application form and fee. You can fill the form either online or download it here (PDF file).
  • Provide a copy of a high school diploma, high school transcript with a graduation date or GED.
  • Participate in a qualitative admissions interview with an Admission Director.
  • Take a placement test based on the applicant’s program of choice.
  • Meet any program specific entrance requirements.
  • Complete and sign the Enrollment Agreement.
  • Pay the tuition and fees or develop a payment plan with the school.

3. ADDITIONAL ADMISSION PROCESS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

In addition to the general admission requirements, an international student is required to submit the following document(s): (1) either an affidavit of financial support from his/her sponsor(s) verifying financial support for the student during his/her enrollment at Newton College and/or (2) a bank statement verifying sufficient funds to cover tuition, fees, costs and living expenses while enrolled in the College.
